Red Cross offers a helping hand for people who feel alone – Corby and surrounding villages

Connecting Communities is a service offered in Corby and surrounding villages for those who experience loneliness or social isolation.

The service is available for adults (18 or over) affected by loneliness. This includes new young mums, those health and mobility issues, people dealing with bereavement, divorce or separation, and those who have recently retired or seen their children leave home.

The focus of the service is on building a person’s confidence and sense of identity and purpose. Support is tailored to a person’s specific needs, depending on the stage of loneliness or isolation. Help can be provided for up to three months. The service is delivered by trained staff and volunteers.

Also, we are looking for people to spend a little time helping those who feel alone. As a part of the world’s largest organisation volunteering with us will give  a chance to meet different people, develop your skills, and enjoy the company of like-minded individuals.
