Introducing Transport of Hope…

This is a community organisation that has developed from Helpful Humans, continuing to help the homeless and refugees but also offering frontline support to people in our local community who are struggling in any way.

Chris Clavey reports that they are desperately short of all types of clothing at the moment, still collecting food and toiletries and also in urgent need of men’s underwear (new only) and socks up to shoe size 7 (new or second-hand): these are to send out with warm clothing in September, in readiness for when the weather starts to grow cold in parts of Europe and in Syria. We are also collecting school uniform in conjunction with the Rushden Full Gospel church

Chris can be emailed at chris.clavey@tesco.net or phoned on 07818 634939. There is also a Facebook group: Transport of Hope. They are very busy at the moment but quite short of aid items as mentioned above.

The current function of Helpful Humans is to help refugees with their Home Office paperwork and to look at the options within the county for fostering refugee children.
